Laurie Rose Griffith and Peter Mealy

The wife and husband acoustic duo,Laurie Rose Griffith and Peter Mealy, have been performing together for more than two decades, and performed at hundreds of venues up and down the East Coast, including the Kennedy Center, The Summer Olympics,The Philadelphia Folk Festival, the Birchmere, to name a few. 

 

Their stylistic range includes Americana, Bluegrass, Folk, Rock, Jazz, Celtic, as well as a large body of award winning original songs.

 

They have recorded two CD’s, Tocoi Light, and Something Good. Their first CD, Tocoi Light, was nominated for 9 WAMMIES, and was voted Best Debut Album of the Year.

 

Laurie was voted Best Singer in Fredericksburg in the annual Front Porch readers poll, and the duo was nominated for the Virginia Governor’s Award for Artistic Excellence.

 

Peter is also a respected guitar instructor who has authored five instructional methods on guitar and ukulele.

Laurie and Peter are fully functional as a duo, but often add a bassist and percussionist to augment their sound.

 

Laurie and Peter live in Fredericksburg, VA with their two daughters, Adrian and Rosalie.
